It’s over for another year! Costumes we own washed and almost all put back into storage, hired costumes to be returned later in the week. Just the panto pary to go – we always hold it a couple of weeks after the show, to give everyone a chance to get ‘fresh wind’ (must be a panto gag in there somewhere!!). A short respite, then it will no doubt be time to start thinking about next year’s! Note to self : must arrange to meet with Theatre Manager in January!!
The first show went very well, albeit with 2 cloth mishaps (a cloth came in (tied!), once when it should and once when it shouldn’t!) – and the second and last of our performances went excellently. With mostly rave reviews and people leaving saying how much they had enjoyed the pantomime, this has been a great run. Thanks to everyone involved for a fantastic week!
Two shows today – and both went very well. No real mishaps and the performances went like a dream – just like you dreamed it, in fact! Jack keeps climbing higher and higher on the beanstalk, and Robin (SM) and I get quite worried! She’ll be on the roof soon!
Shows 2 and 3 today – a few minor glitches, but otherwise both went very well.
A great first show! Everbody did very well. We had a good audience, of about 170 (lower than the 250 expected, probably due to the heavy snow expected!) – but they were there to enjoy a panto, which they did! The beanstalk grew, Jack climbed up, he defeated the Giant, and all lived hapily ever after! A great first one – thak you all!
Two Dress Rehearsals, one without the Children and the second with. We’ve had to change who plays the Giant. And the crew did really well on the first dress, but not so well on the second one! Hey ho! That’s what practise is for……….. Final Dress tonight then we open tomorrow with full houses most of the performances!
We spent the day getting into the theatre and hanging cloths. Loads to do, and we got through quite a bit of it. We still have plenty to do on Monday morning, but we’re well on our way!
A great band call with our Musical Director Matthew Shenton on keys, David Ashcroft on drums, Lucy Benwell on reeds, Gareth Covey-Crump on bass and Mark Drapeau on percussion. It went really well, and the music is sounding great!
A good runthrough of the panto – although we didn’t have Hannah or Dani, but everyone did very well with lines etc – this is going to be a great show!
