A fantastic run in Aladdin, with audience numbers breaking box office records. A great review from the Herts Advertiser, and fantastic reactions from all our audiences. A flying carpet which was stunning! Great singing! Fantastic sound and lighting! Everything brilliant!

Company Party
Most of us were able to get together on Saturday for the company party. It was good fun, lots of food and drink, and it was a joy to see so many of the Dick Whittington company again!
We bopped to the top and were all in it together throughout the afternoon/evening. We listened to the NODA review and watched a video of the show. Some of the conversations were heard to vary from Dick to Cinderella!!

Just finished!!
An excellent run, with good audiences (considering this was our first time in Harpenden). Reactions to the panto were fabulous, and the whole company was a joy to work with.
Get-out was quick and smooth………
An excellent second performance (Friday 7pm) – and I was delighted to be able to tell the Company today that we have been invited back to the theatre and will be producing CINDERELLA in December 2008 !

Took a call from the Deputy Mayor’s office (she came to see the show last night). She thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted to congratulate us on the whole show!

Rehearsals and dress rehearsals over – and all went without too many hitches. We had some slow scene changes, some missing scenery and props, some missed lines, some badly done songs, but we got there! After a pretty good final dress rehearsal, we opened today!
A great audience for our first night (about 120) thoroughly enjoyed the panto! It went really well, and I am very pleased indeed. A wonderful company, a wonderful show!
The first half ran 50 minutes, the second was 60. A good length, not too long and not too short.
The whole company have worked really hard to get the show to the standard it is and everyone is fantastic.
Get-in Day
The day started at 0830 our house, loading the van and cars.
A long tiring day – but what a lot achieved! Many hands indeed do make light work, and thanks to the efforts of all who were there we got through most (but not all) of what we needed to. Thanks to (FX) Robin, (Lighting) Andrew, (Sound) Martin, Colin & Barry, (FOH) Angie & Grinda, (Stage crew) Andrew, Ray, Mike, Nigel & Dave, and (Company members) Tamsin, Mandy, Sarah, Zoe, Grace, Kaytie & Joanna and (also) Katie & Gill. Denis (theatre) was an immense help too.
The day finished around 2100.

Get-in day today. It’s going to be a long tiring day – however, we have nearly the whole company coming along to help, and this is a real case of many hands making light work…. It’s also Andrew Willis’ birthday today – what a great way to spend your birthday, lugging stuff around, hanging cloths, sorting songsheets, etc!!!! Hey ho!
However, this is the start of our week in the Eric Morecambe Theatre, Harpenden Public Halls – and I for one am really looking forward to it!!
17/1/08 – Band Call and Singing Rehearsal
An excellent day, with our fantastic pantomime band (excluding the drummer who joins us on Monday). Daniel has created some great musical arrangements and the band really sound good……
